Carstensz Pyramid Expedition: March 3, 2014 – March 23, 2014

Carstensz Pyramid stands as the highest peak between the Andes and the Himalaya and the highest summit on an Island on Earth. Our six climbers from the United States and Canada have decided to take on the ultimate challenge of trekking, exploring and climbing their way to the top of the most unique and remote of the “Seven Summits.”

Follow this group of adventurer’s as they step into a different world in the thick jungles of Papua. On their way to the summit of Carstensz climbers will meet with the local Dani tribes and trek through the thick and muddy rain forests for five days to reach base camp. Once they have reached base camp the team will take to climbing limestone rock they even plan a thrilling Tyrolean Traverse to reach the summit at 16,024ft/4,884m.
