Everest Base Camp Trek: October 8 – October 31, 2011
We’re heading to Everest’s Khumbu Valley where the long summer rains have come to an end leaving behind great weather, snowy peaks and a plentiful harvest. Along our trek to Everest Base Camp at 17,500ft/5,333m, we will visit ancient monasteries, rest in beautiful tea lodges, bask in the fall glow of some of the world’s tallest peaks and climb Kala Patar at 18,300ft/5580m for unforgettable views of Everest. Towering, glaciated mountains will surround us at every turn and we will become familiar with the Himalayan giants including Makalau, Cho Oyu, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Lhotse and, of course, Everest.
Following the trek, the adventure continues for Denio and Raquel as they attempt the summit of Lobuche Peak.
