August 1, 2014 – Flying over Kilimanjaro
Wally Berg has just flown into Kilimanjaro International on a new Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 787. It was his first flight on one of the new "Dreamliners”. The windows are big and cannot be closed; they darken electronically.

When they flew over Kili he could see glaciers only, no seasonal snow. This is normal for the July - August season. We like this time of year because it is cool and dry.
The visible glaciers from left to right are The Northern Icefield and Penck Glacier, what is left of Arrow Glacier and closer views of Breach Glacier and Heim Glacier in the second photo.

In a few days’ time we will begin our Berg Adventures Lemosho Traverse of Kili. Our plan is to be camped high in the Crater for the Supermoon. This is going to be a good one!
