Why climb with Berg Adventures

Kilimanjaro Expedition Dispatch

January 20, 2013 – Hakuna Matata

“Jambo” from Kilimanjaro! Everything is “hakuna matata,” we left yesterday with everyone. The porters walked twice as fast as we did. (Guide: Say your name…☺) Oh, this is Bob! Bob McCarrick. The porters walked twice as fast as we did, they greet us with the songs and dance when we get back and when we left from the gate. It’s actually fantastic. We’re having three meals with tablecloths on the table every day. So, we’re walking “polepole” very slowly. Everyone is doing great, everyone feels good and we’re just outside of Shira camp right now. We’ve walked to about 11,200ft as you mentioned Paul, and everyone is feeling good… legs, and stomach, and head, and everything feels good so we are excited about keeping things going and Maruka.

That was Bob, and now here is Bill:

We were having a great day, its day #2. We were at about 11,000ft we’ve been climbing today for about 6 ½ hrs and everyone has been just great. Berg has been awesome, exceeding our expectations so far. The weather has been fantastic; it’s been sunny every day and no rain in sight. Good day!
