Kilimanjaro Expedition Dispatch

December 10, 2011 – Day Two on the Mountain and Going Strong

This is Michael here. After an intense Land Cruiser ride yesterday, we made it to the trail head and our lunch spot. We were greeted with song and dance from the crew. We had an outstanding lunch and then had a short hike to our first camp under the trees which was beautiful. The guides are taking excellent care of us - Julius and Eric are great.

Ryan is getting a little heel blister which he keeps talking about (laughter in the background). Just kidding, he’s a trooper. Rob and Kyle are top notch; everyone is strong; my back is holding up. We just finished our lunch and are heading out to our next camp, Shira I Camp at 11,450ft/3500m.

We are doing great. Sprits are high, appetites are high, and we’ll check in soon. Love to you all.
