Kilimanjaro Expedition Dispatch

January 13, 2010 – Big Tree Camp to Shira 1 Camp

We’re now on our second day of our expedition up Mt Kilimanjaro. This morning we left Big Tree Camp and are currently on our way up to Shira 1 Camp where we will spend the night on the Shira Plateau at 11,450ft/3500m. We’ve been hiking through some spectacular and remote terrain as we move across Shira Ridge and we should be at camp in another hour or so, hopefully.

It’s another beautiful day here and everyone is treating us very well. We’re having a very nice time so far.
