Kilimanjaro Expedition Dispatch

January 12, 2010 – Starting up Kilimanjaro

It’s the first day of our Kilimanjaro climb. We’re at the park gates just doing some video right now, looking forward to getting to the Lemosho Glades and starting our climb up to Big Tree Camp where we will stay tonight at 9200ft/2804m.

We had a flat tire on the way here which was interesting. Jacob changed the tire for us while we all supervised.

We’re very excited to get going and I have a really good feeling about the trip. It’s sort of a funny day, a little bit overcast but this has been a great adventure so far and it looks like it’s going to continue that way. It’s a beautiful place and I’m looking forward to getting home to tell everyone all about it.
