June 24, 2008 – Settling in for the Night at Shira Camp
Hi this John checking in Tuesday night on the 24th. We are at the Shira Plateau camp at 12,500 feet. The weather turned beautiful late this afternoon with blue, sunny skies. We have great views of the western side of Kilimanjaro but it’s getting cold and windy and we are settling in for a very cold night, after a delightful dinner of course!
Ellyn has been doing great. She’s very strong and we have to keep on holding her back because she’s going too fast! Tomorrow we are going to the Lava Tower, then Barranco Camp were we will report back to you. Good bye for now!
