June 25, 2008 – Jambo Everyone!

It’s Wednesday morning on June 25, 2008, and this is John Bank checking in. We are off to an early start from Shira Camp up to Barranco Camp. The weather is nice but it looks like there are some clouds moving in and the winds are picking up a little bit but hopefully we will have a good day. Everyone is feeling good after a night's rest. Here’s Ellyn.
Jambo! Every morning we are greeted by the porters who sing an rhythmic chant in Swahili which is translated as “Welcome to Mount Kili.” It’s really fun and it’s a cheer to send us off for the day. Looks like it’s going to be beautiful out and we’re doing great.
