We made it to Karanga camp. This is our 5th night on the mountain; we are at 4,000 meters now; we were all the way at 4,600 meters at Lava Tower last night. That’s part of the plan; get up on the mountain, stay relatively high; push up higher, and now our 5th night on the mountain, we descended a bit more; we are going to take a deep breath and look up at this beautiful mountain above us; we are climbing tomorrow to high camp and then the top, the crater and Uhuru Peak.
Everybody is looking good, this game is about acclimatization; the oxygen saturations are very good.
The mountain is challenging, the weather changes, we now traversed all the way around from the western edge of mountain to the eastern side and now we begin ascending towards the top.
This team has been great and we will keep you posted; I hope you get the photos. We are having a great time on Kilimanjaro and we are going to do this!
