Ecuador and Galapagos Expedition Dispatch
October 7, 2017 – Fuya Fuya
It is 10:30 in the morning, Saturday, the 7th, and here we are, talking about high altitude! Now we are at 13,986ft /4,263m and on top of Fuya Fuya.
We climbed all the way up this morning. We got an early start out of La Mirage and began climbing at 9:30am.
The team moved at great pace, although a bit slower due to the high altitude. We have virtually no visibility, it is a surreal scene around us on this mountain in the Andes, but very beautiful, the team did great.
We are going to take a little break here on top. Remember tonight in Quito, we are all going to get together, we are going to meet the other team members and explore Quito, try to climb even higher for some of us tomorrow.
This Hiking Ecuador team has been doing great and we are looking forward to be reunited with the rest of the team in a few hours down in Quito. Here we go, from Fuya Fuya. Congratulations to the Berg Adventures hiking team!
