February 14, 2014 – An Acclimatization Day to the Lava Tower
Hello this is Bharath Samrat. We just made it to the Lava Tower on day 3 at 4,600m and it was a great hike! Every step, every day is more challenging than the previous one. It was really tough, I think I pulled my triceps and my calf muscles and had to use my forearms to crawl up some rock and I slipped a couple of times. But we were very happy to make it to Barranco Base Camp and to have reached Lava Tower now. Now we are going to go back to Barranco Camp at 3,960m and it’s a great way to acclimatize. Tomorrow is going to be a day of rest. We have been moving straight for three days and it is good to balance with some rest.
So far the weather has been awesome! We have still 6 more days and we will do it – together!
