February 13, 2014 – Setting Goals and Making Them Happen!
Hendrik called in this morning to report they had a great day at Barranco Camp yesterday and were feeling good this morning. They had just finished breakfast and were planning on doing a hike to the Lava Tower today.
Danny and Hendrik called into the office today:
Hi it’s Danny Andrade and Hendrik Lesterhuis. We are coming down from the near the Lava Tower. We just came back from our acclimatization hiketo the tower, just to kind of get used to the altitude which is close to 15,000 ft. Now we will go back to Barranco Camp, chill out and read a book, put our feet out and have a few beers…just kidding! (Team breaks out in laughter in the background)
We are going to rest up here, have a nice dinner, have some soup – some polenta which is on the menu tonight. That is what our guide said is the best thing to do.
To our family and friends we love and miss you and will be catching up with you in the next couple of days.
Hang on here’s Hendrik:
Of course we are going to write in our journals tonight. Shaka, we call him Shaka Zulu, he is the man! Berg Adventures have been really taking good care of us. We have great guides and we are looking forward to tomorrow and the next two days!
The ultimate goal is to make it to the top and make our dreams come true. That’s what this is all about, setting a goal and making it happen!
