Why climb with Berg Adventures

Kilimanjaro Expedition Dispatch

February 8, 2010 – Our Adventure Comes to a Close

This is Dave and Darcy with our final dispatch from Arusha. Jacob advised that we should leave the Serengeti early this morning for our drive back to Arusha, and we were rewarded with a private showing of a pride of lions, two males and two females just walking along the road at the Serengeti gate. We watched them for some time, getting excellent photographs.

Sadly, our time with Berg Adventures is now over but we will have lifelong memories of Kilimanjaro, the Cultural Tour, and the Safari. Each and every day was a unique and amazing experience. We’d like to compliment Leila and Wally, Tracy, Kristy, and Angel for organizing a truly exceptional adventure and especially thank our guides Julius (Kilimanjaro), Clemence (cultural tour), Jacob (safari driver and guide) and mountain team, Samwell (cook), Noel (server), Arthur (sanitation engineer) and Jeremiah and porters for making it happen flawlessly in Tanzania! This was a world class, truly unforgettable trip of a lifetime!!!

Our adventures with Berg are over, but our trip is not quite finished as we’re heading off to Zanzibar on Thursday for some R&R and some more great South African wine!

Thanks again,

Dave and Darcy.
