March 17, 2009 – Mike Takes In All the Beauty on Kilimanjaro
Hello this is Mike calling you from Kilimanjaro and it’s day two here on the mountain. Things are going really well. We were up early this morning at 7:00 a.m. and we’ve been trekking since about 8:00 a.m. Right now it’s about 3:00 p.m.
I’m stunned about how beautiful everything is and I have many wonderful pictures. The traverse up the mountain is absolutely spectacular.
I’m feeling good and in great health. My guide Elias has been taking great care of me! Talk to you again soon.
As Michael gets higher up the Machame Route,
the views of below are spectacular
The Machame Route is considered to be one of the most striking as it has beautiful scenery and is filled with vegetation. Here the trail is littered with a plant called Senecio Kilimanjari
