March 6, 2008 – Everyone Settles In For a Night at Karanga Camp
This is Tracy calling from Karanga Camp at 13,900 ft/ 4,235 m. We made it up here this afternoon at around 4:10 p.m.
After a wonderful lunch we walked down in the valley. There was a little bit of scrambling down and then back up a big hill. Everyone did really well.
We got to camp and the sun was shining down on our tents so we were able to dry some clothes out and enjoy the sunshine.
Now as I’m looking down I’m realizing that this camp is on a little bit of a slope. It makes you feel like you are getting higher up the mountain.
There are some clouds coming towards camp but we are hoping it will clear later on so we can see the bright lights from the town of Moshi.
We are now going to settle in, have our tea, relax and then have some dinner. Hopefully we will have a great sleep tonight now that we are sleeping a little bit lower.
Stay tuned!
