Kilimanjaro Expedition Dispatch
September 11, 2008 – Day Three and Going Higher!

The path to Mawenzi
This is Dave. We are up at the Mawensi Tarn Hut, at approx 14,500 feet. So far so good. Today was quite rainy and wet. I am up on a ridge so that we can get the signal on the satellite phone for the dispatch. I am looking down at a little village of tents, it reminds me of the pictures you see of the base camps on Everest and K2. This certainly is not that kind of adventure, but so far it has been great. The twelve guys are taking good care of me. Ron, you would love it here. I met up with some other climbers from Canada and the UK today and they wondered how I was so lucky to have all of this attention.
I will be moving up tomorrow, a little tougher day and the next day we will summit.
Will keep you posted, love to all.
