July 26, 2008 – Summit Success!

Larry and Brad reach their goal at the top of Africa!

This is Brad and Larry from Kilimanjaro. Yesterday, July 25th we summited the top of Kilimanjaro with a spectacular view and great weather. The trip up was difficult at times. We would take five to ten steps and stop to take in air, and take five to ten more and repeat, but we kept with it. Larry did great. We went to the highest point in Africa and then down into the crater which is just 100 meters below. It was a very cold night. We are just leaving the crater and headed down to Millennium camp and we will report more from there.

This is Larry from Mt. Kilimanjaro. I made it to the top and the most physically challenging thing I have ever done. I made it and Berg Adventures has been really taking good care of us. We are dropping altitude now (transmission lost).
