July 24, 2008 – Larry and Brad Prepare to Summit

Incredible views of the summit from Karanga camp

Hi this is Brad. We had a great day today on Kilimanjaro. We left Karanga Valley Camp and hiked up to Barafu Camp for lunch and then we hiked up above to Kossovo Camp. Kossovo Camp is 3,748 meters, which is about 15, 970 ft. We are eating dinner at this moment and we’re getting ready to go to the summit tomorrow morning. Lots of preparation and we are anxious to get started. Julius and the guys have been great. We had a great birthday party for Barb this morning and the cook produced a cake which was wonderful! There will be pictures to follow. We miss everybody, love you and we’ll talk to you soon.

This is Larry. The weather continues to be great and the food is wonderful. As Brad said we are preparing for the summit in the morning. We are very excited and I’m sure that we are going to make it! We will send a dispatch after we summit. It will be from the Crater Camp. That’s all we have till tomorrow. Love you all and see you tomorrow,
