Kilimanjaro Expedition Dispatch

August 1, 2016 – We Are off to the Mountain

After an early morning breakfast, our team has left Arusha to Kilimanjaro National Park, via Umbwe gate located at an elevation of 5,905ft/1800m. Their goal today is Umbwe Cave Camp, altitude 9,760ft/2975m. The Umbwe route, the most scenic on Kilimanjaro, is extremely remote and quiet.

Team left Arusha at 8:45am.
