Ama Dablam Expedition Dispatches

Berg Adventures' Ama Dablam Expedition: October 17 – November 21, 2015

To Climb the "Unclimbable"

It’s been 53 years since Barry Bishop and three others were the first to make it to the summit of a mountain that Sir Edmund Hillary had previously called “unclimbable” and “fantastically difficult.” This month, Barry Bishop’s son, Brent, is back guiding again an expedition for Berg Adventures International that will follow the same route up the southwest ridge. Please join us for continuous expedition coverage.

Ama Dablam demands the attention of all those who pass by. Its graceful lines of rock, ice, and steep fluted snow have been a draw for mountaineers for years. Four of the six highest mountains in the world ring this enchanted valley, but it is Ama Dablam that defines the core of an alpinist’s dreams
