Ama Dablam Expedition Dispatch

November 12, 2015 – Team is Back Down at Base Camp

Temba called to let us know that Brent, Jennifer and Palden made it safely back down to base camp and Lhakpa with a team of Sherpas will be heading up to clean the route. Everyone is doing well and they will be heading back down to Pangboche (Temba’s lodge) tomorrow to rest up and send us photos!

Stay tuned for Brent Bishops recap of the team’s summit day!

Ama Dablam - The meaning of this spectacular mountain is “Mother’s Jewel or Necklace” the ridges flowing out from each side of her like the arms of a mother (Ama) protecting her child. The (Dablam) is the obvious hanging serac you can see near the top. A Dablam is a traditional pendant worn by Sherpa women containing pictures of the gods.
