June 12, 2015 – Trevor and Rafael Summit Mount Mirador
Hi everyone! This is Trevor Stuart calling from Condoriri base camp.
I’m just calling to let you all know that Rafael (the other Canadian) and I have summited Mount Mirador. That’s on the other side of Base Camp.
It’s a very rocky, steep scramble. We used a few ropes along the peak and went down the scree a little while later.
It was an absolute beautiful, beautiful day. The wind is picking up; a cold front is coming in.
We are going to get up really early in the morning and start our summit bid for Pequeno Alpamayo. That will be a very long day. It will be 12 – 15 hours of snow and ice climb, very steep.
Keep us in your prayers and look forward to us touching base with you when we get back.
It was a rest day for the team. Mirador was just a peak we could go do if we wanted to.
Raising awareness for victims of violence and for the Harbour House in Lethbridge and I sure hope the fundraiser is going well and that lots of people are getting help where they need help.
I miss everybody. I miss Nancy, I miss my mom, miss everybody. I just wanted to thank everyone for supporting me along the way and training me and the YWCA for doing such a good job and helping me along the way.
With that I will let you all go and we will touch base tomorrow.
God bless.
