February 20, 2014 – Bharath and Sheila’s Summit Day Recap
After some time to reflect on the amazing adventure that Bharath, Sheila and Doug had on Kilimanjaro it is time to look back with some amazing photos of their Summit Day. Sheila and Bharath had some very challenging conditions; they even got stuck in a storm at Stella Point at 18,840ft (5,742m), where they had to stop and spend the night. However their strength, determination and support from their Berg Adventures guides and staff, Doug in Arusha and everyone at home helped them power through and reach the top of Africa at 19,430ft (5,894m).
Here are some of Bharath and Sheila’s photos of their incredible summit day:

After a long day of hiking through the snow the summit is in sight!
We could tell by the amount of snow at the top of the mountain that it would be impossible to sleep in the crater
