February 12, 2014 – Bharath Wakes Up to a Big Surprise!

When Bharath woke up today all he was thinking about was today is the day his climb finally begins. Little did he know that he had a surprise waiting for him at the Arusha Hotel. Sheila Nykwist the founder of New Branch Media in Calgary Canada was waiting for him, with fellow adventurer Doug Gablehaus - with their bags packed ready to accompany Bharath on this incredible adventure!

Sheila became very interested when she learned of Bharath’s plans to take on the challenge of his lifetime, climbing Kilimanjaro. She has been following Bharath as he planned, trained and prepared for this great climb. She has been taking videos of his training around Calgary, learning about Kilimanjaro, and understanding more about Bharath’s dedication to his dreams. And just like the rest of us she was captivated by his wonderful spirit and devotion!

Sheila called into the office only a few days before Bharath was scheduled to leave for Kilimanjaro and told our office about her idea to surprise Bharath in Tanzania. After working with the office on getting all the necessary preparations complete for their last minute adventure Sheila and Doug departed on Sunday morning for Kilimanjaro International Airport. They arrived in Tanzania last night at around 2 am and were so excited to surprise Bharath in the morning.

When we talked to Arnold in Arusha he said that Bharath was so surprised and incredibly excited to have had Sheila and Doug travel all the way from Calgary Canada! He said he really could not believe it! On Saturday Sheila met him at the airport to see him off on his way to Tanzania and he never dreamed he would see her again until he had completed his climb. Now she will be there with him every step of the way!
