Vicious and Delicious Kilimanjaro Climb and Wildlife Safari Dispatch
October 15, 2013 – Vicious and Delicious Recap Their Wildlife Safari Adventure
This is Todd Roadman coming to you live from the Serengeti National Park. It’s been a few days since we have done our dispatches so I will try and update you as much as I can. The first day of the Safari we went to Tarangire National Park and it was an unbelievable first day. We saw about 20 different large mammals and numerous birds.
The next day was an early start and drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We continued to see scads of the same animals plus additional species of birds and animals: Cape buffalo, common elan, bush bucks, bearded wildebeests, elephants, giraffes, leopard cubs and many more. We have had beautiful sunsets with back drops of impala’s in the horizon.
The next day we headed out early to spend the day in the crater, another unbelievable day experiencing with our first fighting and mating of lions. We saw four different prides of lions. We had lunch at a small lake with several hippos, drove back over the crater to see flamingos and we saw some black rhinos in the distance. We also saw a large cape buffalo killed by multiple lions. We also one day saw three male cheetahs up close and witnessed another lion kill of a young zebra.
Next day we drove to Serengeti Park and saw a lot more animals. We got up early the next day and attempted a balloon ride but there were high winds so it was decided that it would be a better idea not to go.
Listen to Todd's call, part 1
Now we are going to the Migration Camp. As I am standing here at the Serengeti lodge we look around and see Cape buffalo, zebra, impala’s; there are all kinds of sights and sounds. Stay tuned for more, it should be a great day. Everyone in the Dick Morse, Dale Krapf, Todd Roadman, Andrea Cumens group is doing fine.
One last note, our guide David is the man! He can see everything!
