June 17, 2013 – Enjoying Arusha, Preparing for Kilimanjaro

Hello this is Patty writing from Arusha, Tanzania. Yesterday I arrived safely in Tanzania. After a good night’s sleep we spent the morning meeting our guides and getting an orientation and packing for the trek. After that we toured Arusha. Highlights included the Tanzanite museum and local markets. This afternoon we plan to rest poolside and sample the local beers. Tomorrow we begin the hike. Keep sending us your good vibes. Met our friendly and knowledgeable guides this morning. We thinned out our gear for tomorrow's departure and discussed our hiking plans. Walked around the Arusha market and had a Tusker beer with lunch! Can't wait to begin our hike tomorrow! –Matt
