February 2, 2013 – Our Incredible Adventure Continues
Hi, this is Terri. I am here with Bill and Mairin, and Bob, and David, our driver and our incredible adventure continues! Our most recent event included being within 3-4ft from giraffes, and from cheetahs, which David tells us are rare to find, and also lions. Literally, you could almost reach out and touch them. We also saw a African cat; which is extremely rare, we just happen to pass by one.
One of the things that we saw that was really neat, was we saw a leopard and the leopard was in the tree, and he was waiting for an impala to pass by and so we waited for a little bit. And then we spotted something else, and we didn’t know what it was, and it turned out to be four baboons. They disappeared in the grass, and just laid there and waited. And as time went by, we discovered that the four baboons, one was the momma with the little baby, and then one was the father, and there were two others that must have been the children. Anyway, it was really interesting to watch because the father scurried everybody off to safety, and then he came and starting stalking the leopard. None of us could believe this happened. He started stalking the leopard, and we watched it, and he’d walk and he’d stand up and look around, and walk and stand up and look around, and then it backtracked and he turned and looked into the tree, looked around and came back down and then he started off into the grass and the leopard sprung up and the two of them went running, with the baboon chasing the leopard, so it was quite fascinating.
Anyway, hi to everyone back home, we miss all of you and our adventure continues!
