Kilimanjaro Expedition Dispatch

September 12, 2010 – Summit Success: Yves and Gilles on top of Uhuru!

This is Gilles and Yves calling from the Lemosho Route on Kilimanjaro.

We finally made it yesterday to the top. It was a clear beautiful day and we were totally alone on the mountain with our two guides. We had a great time and all our thoughts were with our family. We ended up doing about 1000m yesterday, which was a lot, and we finished the day in the Crater where we had a good night's sleep. It was an unbelievable trip with a lot of memories.

We're now on our way down. We realize now how very lucky we have been to not have to use any medicine. No headaches, no blisters, and no problems with altitude. Anyway, we had a good time. We just want to say hi again to Caroline, Christine and Nicholas, we love you and we'll see you in a few days. We have lots of pictures to share with you!
