Kilimanjaro Expedition Dispatch

August 2, 2009 – Michelle and Sherwood Head to the Waterfalls

This morning we got up and had our orientation and went through our gear. We also went over our itinerary for the days to come on the mountain. This is all to prepare us for climbing Kilimanjaro. After our orientation we hiked up to the waterfalls on Mt. Meru to get our legs ready for the climb. We hiked through the jungle where we saw lots of banana trees and culture all around.

We are currently on our way back down. Once we are at the bottom of the hill we will go back to the hotel and maybe look around Arusha, our home base.
