July 22, 2008 – Larry and Brad Arrive Safely in Africa

This is Angel from the Berg Adventures Arusha office; The group arrived safely with all their bags on July 17, 2008 at the Kilimanjaro Airport. I picked them from the airport and brought them to the Arusha Hotel where they had dinner and enjoyed a good night’s sleep. The second day we had team orientation and then provided Larry and Brad with their gear rentals. They then made their way to Mt. Meru for a day of foothill hiking and then returned to the hotel for dinner.

On the morning of July 19, 2008 we picked Larry and Brad up from the hotel to head towards the beginning of the Lemosho Route. On the way we passed by the Linde School for Orphans to greet the kids and bring them some gifts. It was Saturday which is normally not a school day but the kids went to the school because they were excited to meet Larry and Brad.

At the starting point before the climb, Larry and Brad enjoyed a beautiful lunch.

Today the group will be moving from the Moir Camp to the Lava Tower for overnight. Both of them are doing well and strong.
