March 18, 2008 – Karanga Valley and Alpine Desert

Jambo, from the Karanga Camp! We had a beautiful day today climbing up the Baranco Wall. It was fabulous, we scrambled up boulders on this large rock wall and then we descended down into the moorlands. In this alpine desert we saw caves and beautiful trees.
What a fun day! And waiting for us at the top were 20 porters and three guides who greeted us in an African chant, the dancing and singing like you wouldn’t believe. All smiling and it is just so much fun! We are having such a great time. Hakuna Matata! (lost transmission)
