May 12, 2019 – Mother’s Day at Illimani Base Camp

Happy Mother’s day from Illimani Base Camp! What we did on mother’s day was to climb almost to 5,000 meters (16,404ft).

To get used to the route to high camp is going to take a few days, see how our acclimatization is and it felt great. There were some photos of how the camp before as the team left and after that it began to snow when we had to do some adjustments on our crampons and the rest of our equipment.

Everyone is asking to send a message to Canada to have a very happy mother’s day; if they don’t get a message one by one before this post is up, we are thinking of everyone, especially the mothers.

We are doing great, we still have a long way to go but our acclimatization is looking good and we are going to rest well tonight, on Sunday, and go high up again tomorrow and see how we do, and we are going to be moving higher to other camps after Monday.
