November 5, 2016 – Climbing Cayambe
The past two days have been quite challenging. We arrived at the Cayambe hut and after a full days practicing, learning some technical skills and more acclimatization it was time to finally attempt Cayambe. As you now, the mountain has always the last word and this time her word was go down. The wind was really strong and the team gave their best but upon reaching 17,000ft (5,200 metres), we decided to turn around and call it a day. And it was a great one. We are now back at lower elevation eating a great breakfast and ready to rest for the next 2 days at lower elevation. We are going to Termas Papallacta.
