Ecuador Volcanoes Expedition Dispatch
November 3, 2016 – Moving to Cayambe Hut
Today we finally left Hacienda Cusin. We are well acclimatized, rested and ready to climb our first glacier, Cayambe, the third highest Volcano in Ecuador, with an altitude of 19,000ft/5,790m.
Our plan is to spend the next 2 or 3 nights at the hut located at 15,092ft/4,600m.
We had a great lunch followed by a quick stop at a local supermarket where Joaquin bought supplies.
Paule and Linda enjoyed browsing the various gifts, candies, and local foods.
