Mendoza Wine Tour Dispatch
February 10, 2015 – From Sauvignon Blanc to Cabernet Francs
What a great day to explore the vineyards of Mendoza!
Today Kristen, Lauren, Wally and myself (Deirdre) met with Mariela at about 9 am. We were more than ready to begin another day of exploring Mendoza.
Here are some photos from our winery visits.

We stopped for lunch at the famous Salentein vineyard. This is a popular location for weddings in Mendoza and it is no wonder why. Along with being in the foothills of the Andes the large vineyard is also an Art Gallery. The architecture of the building was modern and sophisticated. It was a wonderful place to stop for lunch. Our dishes of wild board pared perfectly with the Sauvingon Blanc and Malbec Mariela chose for us.

Our final stop for the day was the Vines Resort and Spa, where Kristen and Lauren will be spending the next few nights. What an incredible place this was. We drove up through the vineyard to find the resort sitting in the midst of rows and rows of grapes. Walking through the front doors Kristen and Lauren immediately noticed the pool and hot tub, facing the grand scene of the Andes. They knew right away how they were going to be spending their first night! They settled into their lovely villa as Mariela, Wally and I departed the Vines to head back to the Park Hyatt in Mendoza.
Tomorrow the girls will spend the day horseback riding, lounging in the pool, checking out the spa and of course sampling some more of Mendoza's delicious wine!
