Aconcagua Expedition Dispatch
January 10, 2015 – Life is Good at Plaza de Mulas
It is about 6:30 in the evening in Plaza de Mulas, the sun is still on us and it is quite warm. I hope you enjoyed the photos we were able to upload from our long walk yesterday.
Today has been about relaxing, organizing, acclimatizing of course. We all had showers this morning, took advantage of the sun light, to wash some clothes and dry them out and after lunch we just sat around and took in the view and visiting.
This is our first full day here, we will spend our second night here at Plaza de Mulas tonight, and tomorrow we will organize some gear and climb a bit higher and return. We plan to sleep here for 4 nights before we actually move to sleep higher at Plaza Canada.
We got beautiful weather, we just went down to check in with the doctors here at Plaza de Mulas and everyone of the team members, checked out perfectly with high O2 sets for this elevation, relatively low pulse rate, clear lungs.
So we are encouraged, we are healthy and we are enjoying good conditions here at Plaza de Mulas and we are building our team together for some tough times up high, but I know we are going to do well because this is a strong and determined group . We will keep you posted as our journey higher continues and as we continue to live here at Plaza de Mulas for a couple of more days.
