Bolivia Expedition Dispatch
August 17, 2014 – Dave Summits Pequeno Alpamayo!
Hello,
This is Dave Cohn. Osvaldo and I are at the summit of Pequeno Alpamayo. This is really, truly amazing!
We left at 3am this morning. It is now about 11:30am local time.
It was the slowest climb Osvaldo has ever done but none the less we made it.
There is a whiteout, we can’t see that much. We can see snow and ice which is beautiful under the circumstances.
I am doing this climb for Yoshiko my wife and her three grandchildren.
I have to say Osvaldo is a superman, it was an incredible thing he did. I don’t know where he gets his strength!
I told him a few minutes ago, there is nothing that compares to this. There is nothing that is as important. Whether it’s others things I have done in my life, it is just amazing.
There is a bit of snow and I guess we are going to head back in a few minutes. We may take a few pictures first.
I want to thank you very much for recommending this trip and for making Osvaldo the guide, as I said before superman.

Right now Dave is just resting in his tent. So we will call you back tomorrow.
