June 22, 2011 – Traveling to High Camp
This is Osvaldo calling from Sajama high camp. We departed base camp at 10 am with our sites on high camp. It was windy and cloudy and the climb was quite challenging. We arrived at our camp at 18,700ft/5,700m at 2:30 in afternoon. Now everyone is resting and getting ready to climb to the summit tomorrow. Sergio and Nelson are high above us on the mountain now putting in fixed lines for our climb tomorrow. We hope to leave camp by 2am for our summit attempt. The weather is not perfect, but it is good enough for a summit attempt and we are optimistic.

Not a bad view

Climbing the steep terrain is exhausting at this altitude.
