Leo Power Everest Marathon Dispatches
Leo Power Everest Marathon: May 13 – June 1, 2011
On May 29, 2011, the Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon will take place on the anniversary of Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary’s successful summit of Everest back in 1953.
The race starts at an elevation of about 17,000ft/5180m making it the highest marathon in the world. Participating in this year’s challenging race is Canadian Leo Power. Before running, Leo will trek through the beautiful Khumbu region of Nepal in order to acclimatize and train for his run. Along the way he will meet many of our old friends and will see some of the world’s most famous and impressive mountains, including with any luck, Mount Everest.
Join us in cheering Leo along all the way to the finish line.
