May 13, 2010 – Rest Day in Pheriche
This is Temba calling with a dispatch from 14,600ft/4,600m at Pheriche. Tonight we are spending our second night in the lodge at Pheriche. We had quite a nice day and only hiked for about an hour. In that short time, we saw a lot of massive Himalayan peaks including Makalu, Island peak and the Lhotse Face.
It continues to be a beautiful day here and everybody is doing very well with hiking and acclimatization. Tomorrow we have a big climbing day but everyone is feeling great so I think they're ready for it.
It must be laundry day in Pheriche.
