May 12, 2010 – A Visit With Lama Geshe and Our Hike to Pheriche

This is Temba calling from Pheriche, at about 14,000ft above sea level.

This morning we had a very special day with a visit to Lama Geshe. Everyone received kata scarves as they were blessed by Lama Geshe at one of the oldest monasteries in the Khumbu.

We had lunch at Tengboche and then after lunch we hiked a couple of hours to Pheriche. Everyone had a very good time. The weather is absolutely beautiful.

Now we will spend two days in Pheriche to take our time with acclimatization. We will do some little hikes around the area while we are here.

Everyone is doing very well. More to come tomorrow.
