"Joints In Motion" CARE Team Gokyo Trek Dispatch
November 6, 2009 – Team Arrives at Namche
Hello, this is Temba writing to you from Namche.
This morning we started our hike from Phakding at around 8am. We hiked along the Dudh Kosi, entering Sagarmatha National Park. In the afternoon we climbed the notorious "Namche Hill", our first real taste of "ukalo", the Nepalese word for "uphill". Along the way we saw Mt Thamserku, and our first view of Mt Everest.
We had a great day of hiking and sightseeing and we arrived in Namche around 4pm.
Everyone is doing very well.
Namaste from Namche, Temba.
