
Everest Base Camp Trek Dispatch
April 14, 2009 – Team is back in Kathmandu
The team has made it back to Kathmandu and the Yak and Yeti Hotel. After 14 days in Bhutan, then 16 more days trekking in Nepal the group boarded the plane back to Kathmandu in the early morning chill on Tuesday.
Temba reports that Kit and Bob are going to make a visit to the ancient city of Bhaktapur on Wednesday. Edouard had a flight to Chitwan where he will visit a jungle resort in the southern Nepalese wilderness. Jim and Janet are going to rest at the Yak and Yeti and enjoy some of the close in sights on the streets of Kathmandu.
Congratulations to this team for completing long, difficult treks. They have seen two of the most fascinating regions in all the Himalayas’ – the wilderness mountains of Bhutan and the fabled trail to Everest Base Camp in the midst of a busy spring climbing season.
