April 6, 2009 – Our Acclimatization Day in Pheriche
This is Ang Temba reporting from Pheriche. We are at 4240 meters now (13,900 ft). Everyone slept well in our lodge here last night and this morning we climbed far above Pheriche to Nagkartshang Peak. This took us to an elevation or more that 4,600 meters, over 15,000 feet. The views were beautiful and all five members did great. Jim is “better than better” now, he always does best at higher altitudes!
At 3:00 this afternoon we will go to the Himalayan Rescue Association Clinic to go to High Altitude lecture and to visit the hospital. We will be here in Pheriche at our lodge again tonight and tomorrow will go to Lobouche.
I am sending some photographs from the past few days. We have had a great time.
