Elbrus Expedition Dispatch
July 13, 2016 – Unbelievable First Day in the Mountains
The weather was perfect. Skies couldn’t have been clearer for our first day in the Caucasus.
The team reached a high point of 11,300 ft. We went to the colorful base of the Cheget Ski Area to begin our acclimatization and our appreciation of the area. Two chair rides took us to just over 9000 feet and we climbed up from there. The views of Elbrus were spectacular!
