Ojos del Salado Expedition Dispatch

February 17, 2015 – The Team Arrives in Copiapo Chile

Osvaldo called into the Berg Adventures office today from Copiapo Chile. Yesterday the whole team: Micheline, Johanna and Heiko arrived in Chile excited to begin their Ojos del Salado expedition.

The climbers were excited to check into their hotel and spend the afternoon enjoying the view of the surrounding mountains.

As for the rest of the Bolivian staff, Maria and Sergio, yesterday was for preparation and trip planning. With the Atacama region being so remote the staff needs to make sure they have enough supplies to help fuel them for the next two weeks.

Today the team is headed to Lake Santa Rosa where they will spend tonight and tomorrow preparing and acclimatizing for their upcoming ascent of Ojos del Salado.
