October 29, 2014 – An Acclimatization Day in Pheriche
Today was our acclimatization day. The morning was very beautiful so we decided to go for an acclimatization hike. We walked for about an hour from Pheriche to Dingboche viewpoint. From the viewpoint we saw Island Peak, which as you know three of our team members are going to be climbing next week. We also saw three beautiful 8,000 meter peaks: Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu.
Next we went to the Himalayan Rescue Association where we attended a lecture on altitude.
After learning some great things at the lecture the group took the afternoon off to rest and enjoy the views.
