June 29, 2014 – Saint Petersburg and Midnight train to Moscow
This morning we were finally together for the first time. Micheline was off to run in the 10K portion of the St Petersburg White Nights Marathon and we all went to do some more sightseeing.
After a long and rewarding day of touring St Petersburg, it began to rain at the end of the day. Good timing, our covered private boat was waiting to depart from near St. Isaac’s cathedral.
We ended our day touring St. Petersburg with a private boat ride on the Neva river and along the canals of the city.
We left our hotel at around 10:30pm - we are not normal travellers in this part of Russia with all our climbing gear
It didn’t take long for Neil to relax on the train; we rolled out right on time - although it was a bit of a scramble getting all our duffel bags into our berths.
We will arrive at Leningrad Station in Moscow at :8 25 am tomorrow.

The team, minus Don, who went to meet some friends who live in St.Petersburg.
