April 26, 2014 – Walking Through Beautiful Forests on Our Way to Thame
Today is Saturday and Namche has their local market. People from all over the Khumbu go to the Saturday market and they load up their yaks and take goods home for the week. We walked to the market and stopped for coffee in our friend’s coffee shop. We left Namche around 8:30 am.
We walked through beautiful forests on our way to Thame. It is spring so on the way we saw beautiful rhododendron flowers. Here are some photos of the different flowers we enjoyed along today’s trek.
Now we are in Thame. Thame is one of the famous Sherpa villages. Many famous climbers are from this village. Ang Rita Sherpa, Apa Sherpa who climbed Everest 21 times! We are also very close to the Tibetan border.
Everyone is doing very good!
